Breaking News: Aircraft Crashes Into House In Manila, 10 Dead

Manila: Ten people, including three minors feared killed as a plane crashes into a residential area shortly after a takeoff north of Manila today.

The twin-engine aircraft crashed shortly after taking off in Plaridel town, killing all five aboard as well as three children, a mother and a grandmother from the family in the house, said Superintendent Julio Lizardo.

The Piper 23 Apache twin-engined aircraft, operated by Lite Air Express, had just taken off from a small nearby airport, said Eric Apolonio, spokesman for the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).

The twin-engine aircraft was en route to Laoag in northwestern Luzon. All aircraft operated by Lite Air Express were grounded pending investigations, Apolonio said.

The local social welfare office identified the family as Rissa Dela Rosa, the mother, and her children John Noel Dela Rosa, 17, Timothy Noel, 10, and Krissa, 7. The grandmother, Luisa Santos, 75, also died from the incident.

Noel dela Rosa said his wife and three children were having lunch when the incident happened.

He was at work, and rushed home after hearing the news.

Dela Rosa’s other son was at school when the crash happened.
